The sweet and spicy aroma of holy basil is enlivening and uplifting, yet grounding. This is nothing like the basil used to make pesto. Instead, imagine vibrant cloves with a subtle burst of sweet, floral freshness. This is my favourite hydrosol to use as a facial spray first thing in the morning.

It is a wonderful mist to help clogged pores and has anti-inflammatory properties that calm blemished skin. Also use throughout the day, great for centering and balancing mind and body. Soothes skin irritations. Also great as an aftershave to reduce inflammation. Or as a room spray or in a diffuser.

Spray morning and evening to freshly cleansed skin before moisturizing. A few rounds of Hydrosol might be needed to saturate the skin, while still damp apply oil or balm. Or mist anytime to refresh your skin and your spirits.

What is a Hydrosol?

Our hydrosols and blends are specifically distilled for the hydrosol, not as a co-product or even a by-product. The plant's cellular water and many components are what we specifically distill for by using only fresh plant material right from our land to ensure that the plant material is as fresh as possible. Most components are lost in typical distillations, lost under pressurized short steam runs for essential oil, or by using dried material.
