Herbal Bitters Tincture

Always part of my Spring Cleaning! Bitters are designed to support liver detoxification, bile production, and digestive health.

These bitter herbs, such as dandelion, help "cleanse" the body after winter by aiding metabolism and clearing excess fat-soluble toxins. Paired with Liver TLC,  these two tinctures are typically used during early spring to break down winter-stored heaviness. But can be used any time of year. Summer bitters can be very cooling to Pitta type people. 

Cautions and Warnings:
Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are breastfeeding,if you have a peptic ulcer, gallstones, a gall-bladder disease, excess stomach acid, a bleeding disorder, asthma, constipation, a gastro-intestinal disorder, or iron deficient anaemia. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, ultraviolet light (UV) or UV therapy.

Contraindications: Do not use if you are allergic to plants of the Asteraceae/Compositae/Daisy family, or to anethole or plants of the Apiaceae/Carrot family, if you are pregnant, if you have a bile duct or intestinal obstruction, or if you have hypokalemia, anaemia, high blood pressure, a kidney or cardiovascular disorder, or if you have acute stomach irritation, inflammation, and stomach or duodenal ulcers, or if you have allergies to acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or other salicylates, or if you have heard disease, low blood pressure, kidney or liver disorder, diabetes, or edema (swelling of hands, face and feet), or if you are taking products containing diuretics. Do not use if you are taking thiazide diuretics, cardiac glycosides, corticosteroids, stimulant laxatives or other medications with may aggravate electrolyte imbalance.
